File sharing networks harm children and US national security
Representatives of the US Patent Office (United States Patent and Trademark Office) made a statement in which they said that file-sharing resources and networks could be a reason for involving children in lawsuits about the theft of music and movies, and also pose a threat to the national security of the country.
It turns out that children using P2P resources violate copyright law much more often than adults without realizing it. In turn, government officials involved in “file sharing,” often “share” folders where important documents are stored.
Of course, everything is not as bad as the authors claim. Simply, peer-to-peer networks have long been a headache for many, including government officials and owners of major record labels. So it is possible that the report is a way to attract public attention and try to form its opinion.
