Not everyone knows, but in fact blind people, on average, read twice as many ordinary people. Meanwhile, learning to read Braille is not a trivial task. So much so that they read hands well no more than 12% of the total number of blind. Teaching Braille skills requires good teachers. Perhaps that is why in Russia in 15 years the number of blind people who have knowledge of Braille has decreased by 5 times. Sound books - one of the possible solutions to the problem, but not the only one.
Designer Hung Jin Lim (Hyung Jin Lim) came up with a simple and effective device, which he called "Braille Translator". The concept consists of two halves: a glove in which a scanner and a text-to-voice converter and a Bluetooth headset are embedded. According to the developer, a blind person in order to read a book is enough just to drag a finger along the lines. ')
I note that the idea of Hung Jin Lima does not represent anything supercomplex in terms of implementation. All the elements have already been worked out.
