Microsoft has released a P2P client for Windows 7

Microsoft has released in open access the beta version of the program Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant 6.5 , which allows you to directly copy files from computer to computer. A user with a Windows Live ID account indicates in the settings for which other accounts he is allowed to open his files, and those become available on the local network or via the Internet.

Thus, you can easily share folders, for example, with fresh movies for friends, colleagues or family members. True, the information about the names of the transferred files will most likely be stored in the logs of the Windows Live ID service, and if desired, Microsoft can transfer this information to the copyright holders. So it’s better not to abuse sharing the licensed content.

In any case, Microsoft will certainly take measures to ensure that the embedded P2P client is not used for pirated purposes. This is known from other examples. MS Messenger is said to classify MP3 files as “dangerous” when you try to transfer them from computer to computer.

In fact, if Microsoft does not block the transfer of licensed content, it will not be any different from The Pirate Bay torrent tracker, which has now been brought to justice .
