The company PDG launches the first social network for travelers TourOut.ru . The project is still in the alpha version - full functionality will be ready only by mid-April 2009. Total investment in the project will amount to 2.5 million rubles.
The project is intended for actively traveling and people interested in tourism.
Now on the Runet market there are no full-fledged social networks for tourism. This project has all chances to become the first social network for travelers.
“By the beginning of the summer, the attendance of the portal is planned to be raised to the level of 5-6 thousand people per day,” says project leader Andrei Dobry, “by the beginning of August we are counting on attendance of 10 thousand people.”
The standard functionality of the social network will be implemented at a high level. Publishing reviews, photos, stories, chatting with friends, searching for information about the planned vacation spot - all this will be at the disposal of the traveler. Also, the tourist will be able to conduct your own travel map. In terms of functionality, the project will be somewhat similar to Vkontakte, however, several surprises await users.
The project's innovation will be cooperation with travel companies or hotels. The user can not only communicate with other travelers and plan trips, but also pick up a ticket, book a hotel or buy a ticket.
Various schemes are planned for the monetization of the project: the sponsorship of countries, the percentage of booking hotels and air tickets. However, the PDG company does not plan to book independently.
