Chinese authorities took up bloggers

China has decided to tighten control over the activities of bloggers. This was announced by Long Xinmin, the head of the State Press and Press Administration, who also stated that the rules for regulating Internet publications concerning the owners of personal diaries have already been established.

At the same time, Lun Xinmin stressed that “the freedom of expression of their thoughts by citizens is fully protected”.

Currently, the Chinese have about 34 million blogs, and many of them (“freethinkers”) are a real headache for the ruling party. Several government offices, including security agencies, the press office and others, are competing with each other, issuing more and more new instructions that restrict freedom of speech.
