When properly configured and used, the Opera’s built-in M2 mailer works much more efficiently than a Gmail with offline operation mode (for example, in the form of Google Chrome and Google Gears).
It is about some of the features that I will try to tell.
first, we need to configure google mail using the imap protocol in the m2 mail client
for those who cannot do without a Russian manual at all, follow the screenshots below.

Select the menu item TOOLS - Mail and chat accounts
')

Account Creation Wizard.
select E-mail, then click the button
Forward>

we specify login and the password, and also
Choose account type - specify
IMAP
most often this is enough - Opera itself will indicate the necessary values for the Gmail mail server, only if you wish, you can manually change the port number value for the outgoing mail server from the proposed Opera 578 to 465
I strongly recommend in the inbox settings check the box next to the economy mode.

note:
if you specify Gmail as the local folder for imap
then your email program will only receive letters from incoming mail.
If you don’t do this, the opera downloads a list of all the imap folders and tries to download all the letters specified in them - unfortunately this is a glitch in the imap protocol implementation allowed by Google.

But it does not stop us, go to the setting of the folder imap and disable extra folders

I recommend leaving only the inbox and be sure to send it.
thus the headers of all letters ever sent via gimmail. And it doesn’t matter which email program you used to do before.
The following utility is Opera M2 - contacts for the address book.
For example, clicking in the email address of our favorite browser instantly sorts all correspondence associated with this contact.

It is even more convenient if you create a contact for which you have specified several email addresses.
additional addresses are specified in the contact properties in the address tab by a simple comma-separated listing.
Jimeil has a very good search for letters, but in the Opera Mailer it is not worse, and taking into account the offline mode of operation, coupled with the instantaneous speed of work, is even better.
Gmail search example for the word rapidshare.com in my mail
example search for Opera M2 for the word rapidshare.com in my mailExample. M2 has a built-in mail filter. We enter for example rapidshare.com and my opera immediately sorted out all mail in the body of which there are links to rapidshara, considering the received and sent mail.
As it is known at the moment, one of the main advantages of mail clients is the ability to send attachments in the style added and forgotten, without painstakingly adding each attachment as it is done in web interfaces. In theory, in the offline mode, a new dzhimeil become as a full-fledged client - sent and forgot
but so far it is not :(
besides, using jimeil it is impossible to send EXE files (it does not matter via the web interface or email program) even if the file in the zip archive jimeyl does not send such a letter. The solution is still there - packing EXE in RAR. In this case, everything passes.

Gmail's strength: the ability to work with your mail from any browser. Opera naturally must be installed on our computer.
On the other hand, the Gmail offline mode itself implies a job similar to an opera ie. on your computer where there is access to a limited circle of people.
As a result:
If you use a single computer, then any offline email client would be preferable, if you constantly have to change computers - our web interface is everything.
For myself, I chose
Opera M2 for the mailbox, although it is not used daily for mail ... Google Apps taxis and beeps.
