The Free Software Foundation’s affiliate DefectiveByDesign last week published a petition asking Steve Jobs to “set a good example for everyone” to remove DRM from iTunes.
DefectiveByDesign, a subsidiary of the Free Software Foundation against DRM, wrote a response to an open letter published in February by Steve Jobs. Recall that in February of this year, Steve Jobs wrote a letter in which it was said that Apple agreed to stop using DRM, but the situation does not depend on them, but on the Big Four (Universal, Sony BMG, Warner and EMI).
The answer was written as follows:
Launched on March 6, the petition reached its original goal - a thousand signatures were collected in just five hours. The collection of signatures will be carried out until April 1, after which the petition will be sent to Steve Jobs.
