Live OneCare is to blame for the disappearance of mail

Microsoft acknowledged that its Live OneCare service due to a software error really deletes user emails from Outlook and Outlook Express.

The fact is that OneCare responded to attachments in the PST and DBX formats, taking them for viruses and deleting (or quarantining) entire folders of letters. One of the visitors of the OneCare forum compared the activity of the program with a virus invasion. The latter, according to the victim, looks like childish babble.

By the way, today an updated version of Live OneCare should appear, where this error will be fixed.
