International Year of Astronomy - film "Eyes on the Skies"

2009 is declared the International Year of Astronomy. Exactly 400 years ago, Galileo Galilei first used a telescope to observe celestial bodies. To commemorate this remarkable event, the European Space Agency released a book and a film called “Eyes on the Skies” , in which the telescope’s historical development, scientific developments, breakthroughs in technology, as well as the people behind it all were examined.
