Intel will introduce an eight-core Xeon

On Sunday, Intel will introduce new Nehalem processors at the International Conference on Solid State Systems ISSCC 2009 in San Francisco. One of them is the eight-core Xeon chip, which in official documents is listed as Nehalem EX.

Nobody really knows about this processor. Except maybe the fact that it was produced using 45-nanometer technology, and each of its eight cores can process two streams of instructions simultaneously.

Intel also reported on their plans for the future. Despite the fact that the company closes five factories at once and reduces several thousand employees, the timing of the implementation of the 32-nm process (end of 2009) will not be postponed. And in 2011, it is planned to introduce a 22-nm process technology.
