I am writing this topic because I spent $ 100 on OmniFocus for Mac and iPhone. Why do we need these programs? Under the cut GTD ideology and reviews with screenshots.
What is GTD
GTD stands for "Getting Things Done." Also, this expression is the title of the famous book by David Allen "How to put things in order."
GTD is not just a task list for the day, designed to forget nothing - it is a whole system created to work and live effectively. Next, I will talk about the features of the system and why OmniFocus fits best.
Inbox

Inbox - this is a box where you throw everything that comes into your head. This will allow this very head to release and focus on the task. Suppose you rake mail and see the order. Select the part of the text, press the key combination and ...

... a piece of text you want falls into the inbox.
')
Organization
For the system to work, you need to regularly go into the inbox and clean it. In order. If you have something in your hand, you can’t put it back. For each task, a context is defined - what is needed to complete the task. Place, person or subject. For example, to write an article you need your Mac. Is this a single action or a part of actions that will lead to the goal? The task must be moved to one of the projects or to the box with single actions. You can also specify the dates. If the time for the action has not come yet - the font will be translucent. Often examining inbox, you understand that some things do not trump solutions at all. But they interfered before.
Here are the options for projects and contexts:

Act
That's all. Then, when you think about what to do, start OmniFocus and think about what you have with you, where you are and how much time you have. And don't forget to clear the inbox.
iPhone version
The iPhone version costs $ 20. It supports GPS and can sync to Mac via Bonjour, WebDAV or MobileMe. The interface is very concise. Landscape mode is not supported.

Conclusion
Our brain is constantly trying to solve the problems that it faces. A huge amount of resources goes only to keep them in mind. And these resources are limited, as well as computer memory. It often happens that it is easier to perform some task than to list the actions, things and terms necessary for its implementation. Writing down everything that comes into our heads, and then organizing it - we are already doing half the work.
