Recently, a fairly well-known registrar Regtime (in the world - Webnames) published on its website the news:

Today I received a Webmoney initial certificate, despite the fact that the system indicated “left” data about me: the wrong name, the wrong passport number, and others. (in this case, Ragtime) is obliged to check the passport data of the person to whom the certificate is issued, for compliance with the data that he has indicated about himself in the Webmoney system.

Prehistory
I got a WebMoney account in 2004, specifying the “left” data there when registering (and very few people filled out real data at that time). It didn’t bother me, and I slowly worked on the internet, while the BL (business level) did not grow to 40.
Then I decided to get a certificate webmoney: people who have a rather big BL and a real certificate with customers / partners have much higher confidence than people without a certificate.

But the problem is that in order to receive a certificate, it is necessary that the system contains the “correct” data. And if this data is wrong - you have to go through the procedure of changing the “fictitious” data to real data, go somewhere, fill in applications, etc.
And I put it off for later.

And then bam - the domain registrar (Regtime), with which I already had a signed agreement - is ready to issue me a certificate myself. And in the hope that “give me a ride”, I submitted an application and transferred them $ 1 in payment for the certificate.
Two days passed, and I really received a notification that "Your application for a WebMoney certificate is satisfied."

Now, in the eyes of a third-party person, I look “trusted” - and he will assume that in case of any problems with payments, he can always find me and bring me to justice.
For example, if I borrow money, or as a deposit for some services. Moreover, if I received a “personal” certificate (I’m sure I would get it without any problems), I could create a bogus online store and accept money from gullible clients.

But alas. The webmoney users will be able to give him maximum information about me - “Ivanov Ivan, passport series 2233, number 444555”, address “of Moscow, st. Lower Top.

I am sure that this problem will be fixed sooner or later, those who are guilty of negligence will be punished, and checks / rechecks will find inconsistencies issued by certificates with factual information. But for now - the situation is what it is.

Therefore, my imperative advice is that as soon as possible, in the near future, treat people whose certificate is issued by “WMID # 799552707261 Webnames.ru”.
