Rubik 360 - Rubik's Ball

image

Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik, the inventor of the famous logical cube-shaped toy, presents his new logical ball-shaped toy.

The new version of the Rubik's cube, called the “Rubik 360”, consists of three transparent spheres placed into each other, in the center there are six multi-colored balls. The bottom line is to ferry a certain number of colored balls from the transparent inner sphere to the corresponding cells on the outer sphere. They get there through the middle sphere, in which there are only two holes.

The first logical toy, the Rubik's cube, was invented by the Hungarian inventor in 1974, but he only managed to interest manufacturers in 1980. To date, around 350 million copies of the Rubik's Cube have been sold worldwide.

A complete presentation of the Rubik's ball will be held on February 5 (that is, on Thursday) at the Toy Industry Fair in Germany.

Professor Erno Rubik speaks about his new creation: “360 is one of the most innovative and exciting puzzles since the invention of the cube. To solve it will require skill, logic and dexterity. "

However, besides examples of exceptional endowments in the matter of assembling a cube, there are also examples of exceptional awkwardness. So, English builder Graham Parker spent 26 years solving a puzzle, and he tried to put it together almost every day. When the last color block fell into place, the Englishman burst into tears.

Nothing, thanks to Rubik's ball, the next 26 years Parker will have something to do again

upd: a review of the puzzle from Dan Harris - two-time champion in assembling the Rubik's cube in the UK (on the photo above). Who is too lazy to translate - it says something like this:

“The main difference between Sharik and Kubik is that the solution does not require mathematics. If in the Cube the quickest solution was based on formulas (which was recently heard on Habré) and it can be assembled from any position, then 360 requires not mathematics, but physics - the secret is to maintain weight and balance.

My record for Cube is about ten seconds. The first attempt to collect the ball took me two days, the second couple of hours, and now I can collect it in a few minutes. As with the cube, a lot of practice helps.

However, I am not sure that the Ball will become more popular than the Cube, in particular in the assembly for speed. ”

Free translation :-) I apologize if I misled something

upd2: instruction appeared in English (but everything is clear there :-)
