Tags on Habrahabr

Several times I met complaints that through a search on Habrahabr there is nothing to find. Some even create blogs to help others find something.

I consider tags to be a very good invention. Tags will not replace the rubric, but complement it very well. The heading shows the main theme of the article, for example: “ Google ”, “ Social Networks ”, “ Operating Systems ”. But the rubric may be one. Or a little, but a little, as some standalone bloggers do. There may be a lot of tags. They should describe what the article says in more detail.

The author, talking about operating systems can compare Windows and MacOS. Therefore, you should add the appropriate tags. Then it will be easier for other users who search by tags for these operating systems to find something. In addition, on Habrahabr there is such a wonderful thing as "Similar records", which are selected exactly by tags. Therefore, the better the tags you put, the more people will switch to your article from other similar publications.

I do not understand the people who put such tags: quietly slate rustling roof goes , brainwashing , lived , kids , scam . This I just went through two pages. What do these people want? So that their record was unique in this tag? By the way, the tags "kids" and "kidalovo" is not one entry. I don’t think that people will look for something by including brainwashing in their search. I do not think that another entry will appear on this topic. Why not write "fraud" or "fraud" ? Any more used words?

There is another problem. If a certain object that everyone describes in different ways. For example, on Habrahabr there are such tags: “livejournal” , “livejournal.ru” , “live journal” , “lj” , “lj)” , “livejourn” , “livejouranl” , “livejo” , “livejourn” , “livejornal” " . Maybe something else. All this means the same thing. This makes it difficult to navigate the site. Now it will be difficult to correct the situation, but in the future, single-meaning tags do not breed, I suggest using those prompts that we are already offered and choose tags from them:


Appeal to the community. Let's put a lot of tags and simple. If you already have the tag that you want to use, then do not invent something new. The "zhyzn" tag is not better than the "life" tag.
