Recently I encountered such a situation: I developed a design for a site of one company, 3 options were presented. As often happens, my opinion did not coincide with the opinion of the customer, we chose a layout that I like less than others. I have already got used to such situations - I always follow the golden rule “customer is always right”, but I was still somewhat surprised.
Out of curiosity, I simply decided to make a small opinion poll about the three developed designs - I created a post on my blog on Ya.ru with a request to choose my favorite option. The results surprised me, to say the least:
First option38%, (of which men 17%, women 83%), age: from 17 to 52 years old, average: 28 years
')
Second option35%, (of which men 64%, women 36%), age: from 15 to 45 years, average: 26 years
Third option27%, (of which men are 76%, women 24%), age: from 14 to 52 years old, average: 32 years
In total, 62 people participated in the survey.
Pay attention to the ratio of the votes of men and women in each of the options.
Here are some of the comments (gender and age are indicated):
* F, 33: First. Children always attract attention. And the site is designed mainly for a female audience.
* F, 24: First. And not because of the child, but because of the big picture. It turns out an attractive composition.
* F, 26: The first is definitely not. Only because of the soiled child who didn’t cause affection ...
I liked the second one, but it looks like many bourgeois sites with a similar theme.
The third is the most convenient. And beautiful. And nice. He is the best.
* M, 24: I am for the second option. Good distribution of information.
* M: Yab chose Second or Third
The second one is interesting, but I saw something similar on the site about pizza. Those. Also in the center of attention is the subject to which the site is dedicated.
3- interesting, a little non-standard ....... Although I tend to more than 2.
* M: I liked the third option: everything in moderation and navigation through the site is NOT difficult. And you do not need any fruit and vegetable additions, everything in moderation for NERU ...
* M, 28: the first is rustic and rude in my opinion
in the second eye does not know what to cling to, a feeling of discomfort arises
the third one likes the most, you can immediately see what and where.
This is how it is. Thanks to this small opinion poll, we managed to make sure (once again :)) that men and women see the same things in absolutely different ways. That is why freelancers often have problems with women customers.
In my blogUPD Please note that I post layouts not on the “Lynch”, but just want to share an interesting (for me) observation.
UPD2 All layouts show variants of the main pages of the site.
