Google Toolbar in Firefox: new custom tab.

Original

Those of you who use the Google Toolbar in Firefox are probably quite familiar with the many features of Toolbar 5 (beta) - from bookmark to button and search box to “send” . We've added some more features to the Firefox toolbar, so you can download this “second beta” to get all the latest and best toolbars Google has to offer.

One of the features I really admire is the new tab. Now, when you open a new tab, instead of a blank white page that you see by default in Firefox, you will see small pictures from your favorite sites (up to 9), recently closed sites and bookmark pages created from your browser history. You can edit the images , and all this data remains in your browser, which means that no information about your most viewed sites or recently closed pages will be sent back to Google. If for any reason you don’t like it, you can always change it to a blank page or to the site of your choice through the toolbar or Firefox settings.

Some extensions tabs may conflict with this feature, and is currently not compatible with Firefox 2, so check the settings or contact the help center if you have any problems.

The next time you want to go to your favorite site faster or restore a randomly closed tab, you do not need to enter the URL. Just press Ctrl + T or double click to the right of the opened tab and you will see your favorite sites.

In addition, this version now provides the ability to access toolbar 5 with reliable text tracking from right to left.

We are constantly working on improvements and new features for the Google Toolbar based on feedback .
