Broken Egg Challenge

I decided to dispel the last flow of tasks to assembler art and return to logic and observation.

Grandma was carrying eggs. Some gentleman broke her and asked her how many eggs there were to pay. Grandma said she did not know, but she tried to divide them into 2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 piles, but there was always one egg left! Attention, the question: why did she try to separate them? (to decide orally, without any exclamations, matkad, calculators).

The answer must be reasoned and marked as white.

UPD: The correct answer is the first post. One egg mathematically, of course, is also a sure result, but physically - no, well, there are no empty piles, really :)
