What is a "startup" in fact

Hi, I'm a bore. So...

You will forgive me for everything, but I can no longer be silent. I'd like to clarify.

The word "startup" is now used exclusively in relation to the web-based online projects. Whatever the new social network, then surely a startup is named. Web service done - also a startup. Grrr!

People of the Earth, remember:

A start-up (from the English start-up) is a young small company that usually has limited resources and has just started its activity . In most cases, this is a young company, whose activity is not connected with the Internet and webdvanol, but with any innovative technology (on the Internet, nanotechnologies, medicine, and anything else). Such companies used to call high-tech startups, now just startups.

')

A startup is not a site, not a project, not a web service, not a technology. This is a company. Calling a web project as a start-up is just as wrong as calling a company a web site.

Well and not to be unfounded, here are a few links to information for thought:

- Russian Wikipedia and non-Russian Wikipedia

- thefreedictionary.com dictionary

- Merriam-Webster dictionary

Thanks for attention. Until new meetings.
