How to remove unnecessary items in the active standby mode on the Nokia N95

On the Nokia N95 (well, on the others from this family), there were a lot of items in the active standby mode, after the 20th firmware, an absolutely unnecessary “Search in the Internet” was added, and after the 30th firmware - again, an unnecessary “Exchange to The Internet. "

In the end, it all looks like this:

')
More than half of the screen is crammed with any nonsense.

How to fix?

If you google it, you can find a bunch of recipes like this: how to change what active standby shows . The point is to climb HEX-editor for a specific file. But really hunting to climb? Of course not.

I had to rummage more. And it turned: Standby - Script to easily change Active Standby Item Python (Hacked Only) .

The script can be downloaded from the same place, after registering. I perezalil to myself, so that without any registration: ActiveStandby.zip . I corrected it, in the original it required CapsOff to access the system files, and we have the same opportunity in SecMan from QuickHackKit (see the post in the same blog on Habré: The alphabet of a novice Symbian OS user ).

Naturally, you need Python for S60. If you don’t have one yet, then download it: PyS60 (or from the same post - there is a link to the deposit files).

Now what are we doing. To begin, disable the protection of system directories in SecMan:

(capsoff)

Turning off the active standby mode (Tools - Settings - General - My style - Standby mode - Act. Dir. Standby).

Then, using the free Y-Browser (or paid hacked X-Plore) - the standard file manager will not work - copy the file Z:\Resource\AIPluginDefinition.rsc to C:\Resource .

We run our script Standby.py and see that everything is included:

ActiveStandby

The points:

Now turn off everything that you do not need (through the functions of the left button). I did for myself as follows:
ActiveStandby

Making Functions - Save file.

Now turn on the active standby mode (Tools - Settings - General - My style - Standby mode - Act. Dir mode).

Voila! As we now have beautiful and just the right:
Nokia N95 .

Do not forget to turn back the protection of system files in SecMan, and then some applications, supposedly (I have not yet met, but you never know), do not work without this mode.

Ps. He waited for karma for posting and transferred from his cozy blog, seemingly would have replaced all relative links with absolute ones, but you never know, if anything - kick, please ...
