Another oligarch appeared in RuNet. Sergey Kalugin, the former general director of NTK, the largest cable operator National Telecommunications, announced his ambitions (in the photo). In
an interview with Kommersant, he said that he was leaving his former job for the sake of managing a new holding.
During the past year, Kalugin without much publicity bought up seven content projects in RuNet (the total amount is apparently several tens of millions of dollars). However, due to the crisis it is now impossible to sell them profitably, so you have to go into this business yourself.
The structure of "Web Media Holding" will include:
1. Photosight.ru (well-known community of photographers).
2. Credit.ru .
3. Bank.ru.
4. Looky.ru (social network for teenagers).
5. Menu.ru.
6. Inout.ru .
7. Weekend.ru .')
The total audience of projects is about 150,000 visitors per week. At the same time, as it is easy to notice, the projects are designed absolutely for different audiences.
Kalugin owns a controlling stake in Web-Media Holding, in which he holds the position of general director. Owners of the holding owns at least a controlling stake in all projects that it unites. Mr. Kalugin does not name the rest of the co-owners of the holding, as well as the amount spent on acquiring assets on the Internet.
Mr. Kalugin plans to monetize the services of Web Media Holding through contextual advertising and subscription fees.
