Wikipedia articles will be checked

Jimmy Wales, one of the founders of Wikipedia, shared information about the innovations that await this online encyclopedia. So, in the near future, the order of publishing materials on the Wiki may change. Articles will simply be moderated by resource editors.

It is clear that pre-moderation is not for nothing. Although Wikipedia does not yet have competing competitors ( Encyclopedia Britannica doesn’t count , the popularity is not the same), the authors of the resource still strive to ensure that only the most accurate and reliable information appears on the Wiki pages.

Casus and so it was enough. And the last straw was a scandal with a message (during the inauguration of Barack Obama) about the death of Senators Robert Byrd and Edward Kennedy. Which, in fact, was not good at lunch. And, despite the fact that the data were quickly corrected, the administration of the resource does not want to be in a similar situation in the future.

Pre-moderation seems to be the only way to add credibility to Wikipedia content. I can not say that it will add popularity resource. But what to do? So if the preliminary editing of articles on the Wiki is still introduced, then I hope that the time from making changes to displaying them on the site will be measured in minutes, not hours. But about censorship, the question remains open ...

UPD. I do not know where the information came from comrades from the Guardian (the source pointed to the news on Gazeta.ru), but on techdigest.tv , with a link to pcpro.co.uk , the data is slightly different. It may very well be a question of pre-moderation (or a ban on the publication in general) of articles only from unregistered users. Which, however, is also not very good, since Wikipedia will no longer conform to the idea of “a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit” (the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit). Now, if anything, have to register.
