February 2, 2009 in San Francisco will host an event called "Special announcement about Google Earth" with the participation of former US Vice President Al Gore , Google CEO Eric Schmidt , VP of Google Marissa Mayer , and Google Director Geo John Hanke . Sylvia Earle , a world famous oceanographer, will also participate.

As expected, it will present a new, more detailed and three-dimensional map of the ocean floor based on data obtained from SIO , NOAA , US Navy , NGA , GEBCO .
