The next, seventeenth in a row,
DEMO'07 conference
takes place in California from January 30 to February 1, 2007. By tradition, venture investors and financiers gathered here to look at the most promising startups, and this time they registered about seven dozen. Each of the startups got six minutes to perform on the main stage. We list the most interesting.
6th Sense Analytics has introduced an Eclipse-based information platform for tracking unstructured processes. For example, this system can be used to monitor software development projects, especially offshore projects. When the Indian programmer launched the debugger, opened one or another file - this is immediately visible on the American screen. It also displays the total time spent on the project in minutes and seconds, the time directly coding, testing, etc.
Adobe introduced the
Apollo innovative system at the conference. This is a platform for transferring interactive Internet applications from the browser to the desktop. That is, developers can use familiar tools (Flash, Flex, HTML, Ajax) to create desktop programs.
Several startups presented developments that are designed for the WiFi market. For example, the program
Devicescape allows the device to automatically log in to all hot spots.

New development tools Renditions was created by
DARTdevices as part of the concept of “distributed applications”. Thanks to Renditions, developers can create applications using the resources of numerous external devices. Any application automatically adapts to different screen sizes, keyboard type and other usability factors. The program sees where the fastest processor is and can start some computational process on this particular device.

Zink introduced an ultra-portable
printer that prints without ink ,
Aggregate Knowledge , a universal recommendation system for online shopping, and Seagate, a
20-GB hard drive for mobile phones . But that is not all. Surely, something interesting will appear in the press today or tomorrow, because the conference is still ongoing.
