How to make friends with the means of production from Microsoft? (ask for advice)

Most recently, I had an insurmountable craving for researching something new. For the first time in the last ten years, the eye fell on MS development products. Once upon a time, 10 years ago, I tried MSVC, but C ++ Builder won because of the greater rad-ovos and ASP, but hosting for perl and php was much cheaper and more common. For the same reasons, mysql interested me more than mssql.
I want to delve into the following directions:
1. Desktop .NET applications
2. Programs for Windows Mobile
3. Silverlight
4. ASP + MSSQL

Accordingly, in order to delve into this, I need a hefty software package. But ms doesn't have something like CS4 Master Collection, so you need to collect all the software separately.
Could you tell me what I need for this and what software versions to navigate.
While downloaded: VS 2008 Team Suite, Expression Studio, Blend, Silverlight tools.
Remained in my opinion MSSQL-server and IIS.
What can be useful and optional for me?
