With a pretty funny story, I just ran into it.If someone else remembers, I some time ago (almost 6 months) created the
Help Blog for Vladimir Kondratieff . So, this blog functioned for a long time and performed its function. But some time ago they stopped adding comments. Just clicking on “add” was a blank page and nothing. For a long time I was looking for a solution to the problem in various forums and in official technical support - deafly. I tried to update - also deaf. The same with some small file shamanism.
Going into the admin area, I was surprised by a large number of comments - more than 6 thousand. But at first I admitted that this is possible, considering how much the blog was promoted by various media and 6 months of existence. But I tried to delete one old comment - and I immediately managed to add a new one! Fine. Then you just need to clean up some not quite “humane” comments, which I began to do. My happiness, that I started to do it with the last added. Starting to read them, at first I was very surprised by the cynicism of people: comments in the style: “Something is too surprising ... And I think it is designed for a blogger than for webmasters”, “The most interesting blog you have :)”, “Cool, thank you! ;) ”. But then I noticed from the admin panel that whole bundles of such comments were written from the same IP address, but the e-mails, website addresses and nicknames change. Moreover, all comments are clearly positive, but completely unrelated to the topic of the blog. And it is likely that on a blog with a different theme, they would even fit and did not stand out.
What do we have in the end? A sort of "praising" bot, which very quickly clogs the database, as a result of which it becomes impossible to add comments. But on the other hand, it makes a blog in the eyes of the visitor more “weighty”: a large number of positive comments from different people very much raise the blog in the eyes of the user. And such a bot can serve as a good means of a sort of “social” promotion in competent hands.
I wrote it here with the aim to share such a funny bot, and, perhaps, to warn bloggers to be more attentive to those who write comments on their page. Thanks for attention!
Tell me, please, much better to postpone the post and is it worth it?
