Opera Desktop Team invites developers

Opera Software is often blamed for the slowness of bug fixes that users keep saying. But this does not mean that the developers do not want to do anything - everything is much more prosaic: there are not enough hands and bright heads. Moreover, it can be especially noted that in the total number of employees of the company, which numbers almost 600 people, programmers from the former USSR can be counted on the fingers. Consequently, this further hinders the adaptation of the browser to work with the "great and mighty."

However, there is a chance to rectify the situation and contribute to the further improvement of the Opera browser - new vacancies open constantly. Yes, precisely: while some companies are cutting jobs, we continue to expand the number of employees. The other day, the head of the desktop version development department, Olafur Arnason (Olli), in the official blog, decided to personally invite to work everyone who hasn't lost a spark of software creativity.

I must say that the requirements of Olli are rather unusual from the point of view of an outside observer, so I would venture to translate them into Russian. Namely:

Is your code cleaner than your apartment? Are you starting to ping sites that don't respond in 10 seconds? Have you ever watched a commercial for a new movie and thought, “I have this font”? Have you watched the entire Star Trek series four times? Used the plot of the program "Destroyers of Legends" as evidence of their case?

Are you doing all of the above and yet you still have time to fix bugs and add new unique features, which are then greedily copied by the developers of some other browsers?

Then you are the programmer we need!

In fact, everything is a little more serious and you will have to not only talk about your hobbies, but also show what you are capable of in business - to provide samples of your work. And, of course, write a resume - naturally, in English. Let me remind you that the Opera Software team is highly international, so English is here adopted as the default locale.
