How to make the simplest electric motor

Looking at this 2-minute video, you will learn how to create the simplest electric motor out of the available tools available in almost every apartment.

The video was published at the request of my colleague, Anna Kuznetsova. This is her competitive video for the site Smartvideos.ru

UPD: Hooray, we got an invite for Anna , she is now with us!

What we got is a unipolar electric motor.

The first unipolar engine, the Barlow wheel, was created by Peter Barlow, describing it in his book Study of Magnetic Attractions, published in 1824.

')

The Barlow wheel consisted of two copper gears that were on the same axis. As a result of the interaction of the current passing through the wheels with the magnetic field of the permanent magnets, the wheels rotate.

Barlow found out that when changing contacts or the position of magnetic poles, the direction of rotation of the wheels changes to the opposite.
