Fixed a bug in Ubuntu that caused hard drive wear

Even in Ubuntu 7.10, a rather controversial innovation was included, which allows to save the battery power of the laptop by putting the hard disk into sleep mode with a frequent interval of time. With current installations, for 100 hours of work with a laptop, the hard disk was put into sleep mode 7000 times (disk resource - 600000), i.e. almost once a minute.
However, it is only now that a revised version of the acpi-support package has been placed in the test repository “proposed” for versions of the distribution kit 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04. It is expected that the package will be included in the main repositories soon.
