Books help draw icons

Sometimes they ask me about how I draw icons. The answer is simple: books help me. A lot of books. And also: a bookshelf and ... dust jacket. If not explained, it is difficult to guess, so everything in order. My collection of books, the ABC-Classic series, helps me. These are soft cover editions of one format, only thickness varies. On average, it is 15-18 mm. Height - 180 mm. So the spine can be easily divided into 10 squares measuring 18x18 mm. These are pixels. I print a dust jacket with a given position of points on them:
