Walt Disney arranged a real show at CES 2007, introduced a new version of Disney.com in the style of Web 2.0, and also invited to the presentation of movie stars who played the main roles in the TV show Lost. The fact is that the company Walt Disney is actively promoting content for mobile phones, and this series is sold better than others in the version for mobile phones.

The Motorola Director in his speech at CES announced amazing statistics : every second four children are born in the world and 25 mobile phones are sold. Mobile revolution comes to the countries of the third world. Of course, this is hampered by the fact that in Africa, for example, there is no electricity anywhere to read, but Motorola has figured out how to solve this problem: the batteries will be charged from bicycles.

In Western countries, where everything is normal with electricity, the revolution will go on. The most progressive company here is Yahoo , which announced at the exhibition that the search widget Yahoo Go 2.0 will be pre-installed on more than 70 mobile phone models from various manufacturers (Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Research In Motion).

Nokia has introduced new mobile phone models, including the innovative N800, which is an advanced version of the N770, with a tactile keyboard on the screen, support for Skype and a webcam.



The Microsoft manager gave a presentation on Windows Vista and showed several “features that are shown publicly for the first time” ( video ). Among them - a quick search for documents by the first characters in the title (it works directly from the desktop, and it searches not only on this PC, but also on all computers on the network); view previous versions of the document without opening it; tight integration with Windows Live search engine and Virtual Earth map service (for example, a geographic map opens automatically if you click on any address or phone in the text of a document on a PC); Xbox 360 joystick support (for example, for “flying” on Virtual Earth on the Internet - this piece of the presentation caused applause from the public).

Bill Gates, in a speech at CES ( text ), announced the imminent appearance of home computer systems based on Windows Home Server. The first such machine HP MediaSmart Server will be released in the I floor. 2007, although practically nothing is known from technical details . It is clear only that these devices can be of different form factors, as the prototype in the photo below.



Real Networks announced at the show a whole series of new contracts for its online music service Rhapsody . Among the new partners are Nokia, TiVo, Logitech and the Korean company Reigncom (manufacturer of iRiver players). All listed companies will be releasing devices with Rhapsody support. It seems that this open platform can become a serious competitor for the “closed” bundle of iPod-iTunes.
