Creating your own theme. Part 0: Introduction.

image I have been an active Opera user for quite some time. For a long time I used the standard Opera skin, which almost everyone liked me, but over time, the standard design theme was fed up and began to use themes written by other Opera users. Nevertheless, the design, which I would have liked, I found very little, but they already became familiar. Therefore, I decided to create my own design theme and hope that my experience will help others, especially since I did not find information on this topic in Russian.

Under Habrakat, you will see some plan of articles that will be part of the series “Creating your own theme for Opera”. This series of articles will be a translation of an article from dev.opera.com: Opera Skinning , but with my comments. I will try to create a design theme for the same steps and by the end of the article should get a full theme design. Some points in this topic as I create it, I would like to discuss with you.

Approximate plan of articles that can be expanded or reduced:

  1. The location of the files that are used by the Opera and how they are stored
  2. A brief description of the structure of the archive and what the main theme file is.
  3. Types of topics and the answer of the Opera to the absence of some files
  4. Detailed structure of files and topic categories
  5. Supported image formats, animations and some moments of the Opera with a skin
  6. The basis for creating a theme: editing skin.ini
    1. Sections: Theme Information and Theme Options
    2. Item types and list of all items
    3. List of possible parameters for elements

  7. Some tricks and notes
  8. Show the resulting topic and its discussion

Do you think the game is worth the candle? :)
