Nearly half of the employees of the American office of Livejournal (namely, 12 out of 28 people) were fired in early January, and they were not even paid severance pay. Such habitual behavior of Russian business owners for Russian business caused a real shock among American employees. They are also outraged by the fact that they were not warned about the impending contraction, which happened absolutely suddenly. The dismissed employees were told only that the reduction of staff was caused by the “global economic crisis”.
As reported, among the dismissed were project managers and programmers. Only a few employees of the finance department and project management managers remained in the staff.
According to commentators from Valleywag, the project’s owner and investor, Andrew Paulson, finally realized that buying Livejournal a year ago for $ 30 million was a mistake - and now he is cutting tails.
