CSS optimizer: throwing out unused styles

Very often, the developers of sites, designs or themes for blogs (sites) take as a basis some existing design and change it according to their preferences. However, there are few professional layouts, and it can be difficult to understand someone else’s code. Therefore, there are numerous cases when descriptions of styles remain in the css-file of sites that are “not required by the template”, i.e. not used on the site.



I looked through several services (focused on this list ). But did not see the desired. Therefore…



I give the idea of ​​a startup: you need to create an online service or program that would help the layout makers (or those who had to play this role) clean the style sheet of the site specified by the user.



Target audience, I think, designers, bloggers, etc. In general, a lot of people.

As an addition, you can offer to put on the sites "button-indicator" that the site is optimized. The algorithm is simple: css is analyzed for the presence of "garbage" and the corresponding picture is given, and on subsequent requests to the picture, it simply checks for the change of the css-file and depending on its "variability" it repeats the analysis or simply displays the picture with the previously stored state.

Of course, not all will need the indicator, but it is discussed.



PS: The algorithm is obviously not quite trivial, therefore, IMHO, there is a rich field for the manifestation of their programming talents and abilities :)
