The problem with installing some applications under Windows 7

I decided yesterday to test Windows Seven. Installed the system itself, put the drivers. Everything is so beautiful, the system flies - in general, only positive impressions.

Naturally, began to occupy freshly installed Windows. But bad luck - some applications (in my case it is Apple iTunes and Adobe Reader) when installing give out strange errors. And, apparently, these errors are similar to each other.

I tried running in compatibility mode with both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

I tried to run on behalf of the Administrator.

I tried to disable User account control.

I tried to install Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) and Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86). In the first case, the installation window disappears somewhere: that is, it appears, press "Next", several windows appear, then disappear, and that’s all. Nothing else happens. That is, it is not clear whether it was set or not. In the second case, a similar error pops up:

None of this helped, the problem still remains relevant. Does anyone know the solution? I will be very grateful.

I never found a rational and correct solution. As a result, according to the advice of @gefix, it tritely reinstalled the system, and everything worked as it should. Thank you all for participating.
