On many sites, a hint pops up as the typing has taken place under the search field, right? So. But in monstrous programs with a huge number of nested menus such as SPSS, such a function would even be very useful for finding the desired menu item.
For example, in SPSS I need to calculate the distribution by average (Means). I approximately remember that it was somewhere in the Analyze menu, but when I open it, there is a visual noise in the form of other menu items. Simply put, the eyes run. In order to find a menu item, I enter what I need in a special search field, in response to which I get a list of matches, when clicked, the necessary menu is activated. It looks like this:
