The transaction for the purchase of the publishing house "Sekret Firmy" (SF) is completed. The new owner of his publications -
Gazety.Ru , the magazines
"The Secret of the Firm" ,
"Everything is Clear" and
"You Have the Right" - has become
"Kommersant. Publishing House " owned by the head of Gazprominvestholding, Alisher Usmanov.
It turned out that not all the magazines of the Federation Council will be published in the previous form. “You have the right” will be closed, because “Kommersant” “does not see any financial return from it in the near future,
” RBC daily reports the words of commercial director of Kommersant Pavel Filenkov. But the publication will not disappear completely - it will be transformed into an Internet project. Changes in the concepts of the rest of the media are not outlined yet, and now the integration structures of the Federation Council into “Kommersant” are underway.
At the same time, Gazeta.Ru remains a separate project and a separate legal entity. “The online publication will focus on current information and analytics, competing more with other electronic media than with a daily business newspaper (with Kommersant — ed.),” Said Demyan Kudryavtsev, general director of Kommersant.
')
The
Business newspaper , which was part of the SF, which Kommersant did not want to buy,
should have been sold to
Rodionov Publishing House , but eventually went to Arkady Gaydamak, the owner
of Moscow News (MN) and Business FM radio station. The deal with MN saved the newspaper from closing, which, we recall,
was to happen on December 22. Now both Gaydamak and Usmanov intend to build large media holdings based on their assets.
The parties did not disclose the amount of the transaction "SF - Kommersant". Kudryavtsev noted only that part of the funds was allocated by the Kommersant Publishing House, and some by the companies of Alisher Usmanov. According to experts, the amount may be $ 40-50 million. They all agree that the most valuable asset acquired is Gazeta.Ru.
Experts see the priorities of the new owner of the online newspaper in different ways. So, in
Finam, Gazetu.Ru as a business
was estimated at $ 14 million, while, according to unconfirmed data, it was bought for $ 30 million. According to Finam's expert Elina Karaeva, in this case it is not about business, and about politics, she explained the high cost of the Internet newspaper by the approach of elections and the growing attention of Kremlin political technologists to the Internet.
Comments made by “Kommersant”, on the contrary, claim the priority of economic reasons over political ones. So, the chairman of the board of directors of
RAINKO, Andrei Zagorsky, noted that "Usmanov is well able to count money." In his opinion, the Kommersant would be enough for the political platform, but here "there is clearly a task to capitalize media assets."
