First of all, what motivated Last.fm Ltd. open the Russian version of your service?
Undoubtedly, music is a universal language for international communication; nevertheless, the language barrier has long remained a problem for many visitors to our site. We would like to share with all music lovers the experience of a huge community of music lovers gathered under the sign of Last.fm, so the appearance of Last.fm in other languages is quite a logical step. Among our users there is a rather large percentage of Russian speakers. We thought that the Russian version would be a great addition to the services that we offer on our website.
Who helped the company to create the Russian version? Last.fm worked at
partnership with someone or as employees were invited experts from Russia?
The entire Last.fm team participated in the work on the Russian version! Besides
Moreover, in the Last.fm project, Russia has a manager - a girl from Russia. AND
Of course, Russian translators helped us a lot.
In which direction will the “Russian Last.fm segment” develop?
Last.fm brings together the right music and the right people :) Users tell us what kind of music they like, and we give personal musical recommendations, acquaint users with similar musical tastes, tell about events, concerts and create personal radio stations for them ... In the Russian version we did not change anything but language, of course.
Do you plan to promote in other countries, in addition to those for which the localization of the service is already presented?
In addition to the Russian version, from December, Last.fm has been working for Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
If it's not a secret, what new opportunities are being worked on in London?
Oh, we will let you know when something new arrives!
The main thing - do not miss!
And finally - a question that certainly interests the habra people: how can I get a job with you?
If you are really interested in working at Last.fm, send your CV to
