I came across a couple of topics about torrent-rocking and all remote control of them ... I suddenly remembered that about a year ago I had a short period of enthusiasm for widgets for Google Desktop. At the peak of this hobby, I wrote a small proof of concept: a widget for the remote (via
xmlrpc ) controlling
rtorrent 'th, which I spun on an old typewriter. Now the enthusiasm for widgets somehow passed, an old machine burned down, and I sowed the source code somewhere ... There was only a screenshot left, like an old photograph.
Details of the implementation of my head, too, almost all flew ...
I remember that I did everything in pure JavaScript and lamented that Google users chose this language (and not Lua ^^ ') as a scripting language for GD.
')
I remember that I again paid great attention to the “RPC transparency”, and sketched (or tried to sketch?) A small JavaScript (
meta ) framework that would translate method calls / read and write fields to the call to the corresponding methods via XMLRPC.
I remember that JavaScript and Google Desktop Widget API seemed to me quite comfortable.
That's actually all the memories, so I won't be able to write a great post ... But if someone is interested in this topic, I will try to find the source code.
Damn, where did the sorta go ...
