This topic is not a description of an already accomplished fact, because such a topic has already appeared. Here I will try to tell the method that is tested and works with the sims of Ukrainian operators. It was tested at MTS, UTEL (Beeline), Kyivstar.
So, let's begin.
About a month ago I bought myself this unbelievable device called iPhone 3G. It already had firmware 2.1 hacked, but the hacking method was using TurboSIM. Version 2.2 did not support TurboSIM. Only on the eve of Christmas bourgeois, the company released a new chip with TurboSIM. and, accordingly, it was necessary to buy it for 50 dead raccoons (by the way, after buying the aymobilka, I poked around in the phone and killed one turbocharger, so I had to order a new one).
With these events, I waited for the release of unlock software as manna from heaven. After getting enough sleep from the New Year's Eve I tried to flash the phone to version 2.2 and launch yellowsn0w. It took a lot of time ... Therefore, I bring here a proven and working method:
• Download the updated firmware 2.2 on aimabilko through iTunes.
• in Options-> General-> About we see that the modem version is 02.28.00 (only this version works with yellow snow).
• look for the QuickPWN tool and make a Jail-break phone (there are many described methods, and do not pay attention to warnings that you should not do this).
• Launch Cydia
• Go to the options at the bottom of the screen to add a new repository (Manage-> Sources-> Edit-> Add) and specify apt9.yellowsn0w.com as the repository (by this I violated the rule from nine, therefore I provide a link to their website :) )
• Click “Add Source” and click “Done.”
• Now in the search type the word "yellowsn0w" and click "install"
• After installation, go to Settings-> General-> Network (Settings - Basic - Network) and disable 3G
• Close the settings and turn off the phone.
• Turn on the phone (you can directly with the SIM) and how the locked screen will appear wait 15 seconds
• If the network has not yet been discovered, try the following (without this, the Ukrainian sims are not located):
• Go to settings and turn on airplane mode
• Now go to safari (you may need to wait 10 seconds). Safari will have a little quarrel that there is no internet.
• Go to settings and turn off airplane mode
• Now instead of the network indicator it says “Search”. Wait a bit and the network will appear)

PS: even though he was nine and said that while the blocked SIMs are not supported, it worked for me.
