Netcraft company has published the results of the next study, during which the growth dynamics of the number of sites in the World Wide Web was assessed.

According to published data, this month the number of sites on the Internet has reached 186.73 million. This is about 1.56 million more than in November.
At the same time, hundreds of thousands of such resources are common reference distribution kits, which often point to sites with “adult” content.
According to Netcraft statistics,
Apache remains the most popular server software. The share of this web service for the month increased by 0.9% and now stands at 51.24% (95.68 million sites) of the total volume of the corresponding market segment. The second place in terms of prevalence is occupied by the
Microsoft server software, whose share this month decreased by 0.69% - to 33.81% (63.13 million sites). Next up are the
Google platforms (5.60%; 10.46 million sites) and the
Nginx server developed by Igor Sisoyev (1.80%; 3.35 million resources). On the fifth line of the Netcraft ranking is the
lighttpd web server with a share of 1.63% (3.05 million sites).
