From the new year, the new President of Microsoft, Russia, will take office.

On January 1, 2009, Nikolay Pryanishnikov will become the president of Microsoft Russia. He goes to Microsoft from VimpelCom (also known as Beeline), where Nikolai served as executive vice president for international business development.

We’ll still see what Microsoft is waiting for, but for now I want to publish a farewell letter, which Nikolai Pryanishnikov sent by internal mail to VimpelCom.

Very little time is left until the completion of my work at VimpelCom. As you know, from the new year I will start working as President of Microsoft, Russia. I will not hide, this decision was very difficult for me. The main argument was the new opportunities for managerial development.

Teamwork Beeline was a great honor for me. I am proud that I was one of those who created such an excellent team of employees and managers. 10 years in VimpelCom is a whole stage in my life, which I went through with you, overcoming difficulties and gaining experience, defeating competitors and celebrating victories.

I want to thank you, dear colleagues, for the excellent teamwork, for your support and mutual understanding, for all that we have done together over these 10 years!

"Beeline" will remain forever in my heart as an important part of my life. There is an airbrush on my personal car: my wife and I and three of our children are depicted as black and yellow bees. I have more than a hundred Beeline souvenirs from all regions of Russia at my home. My daughter Anyuta, having received a task at school to draw an example of advertising, immediately draws a picture with the inscription “Beeline is the best” in black and yellow colors :)

I will never forget how we discovered the regions dear to me. Remember the start of our branches - often only four base stations, with the sleepless night of the whole team on the eve of the launch. And how did we expand the coverage and introduce new services, how did our brightest brand develop? And how together we sing our corporate song! I am grateful to the fate and native company for the fact that I was able to visit all corners of Russia and get acquainted with 15 thousand wonderful people working in the Company - energetic and dedicated to their work! We have achieved a lot in the business that we did - No. 1 in terms of the number of active subscribers, a very high level of efficiency and profitability of the business! These are the results of the work of a successful Russian team, of which I, as a leader, could not help being proud.

It was very interesting for me to launch our first international projects. I am sure that we have significant potential for development, and I wish my international colleagues good luck in all the most daring designs!

The main threat to the company's success in the future, I still consider the threat of a slowdown. Fortunately or unfortunately, we really became a “monster”: many countries, many different business areas, a large number of employees. I think that the “SPEED!” Program is absolutely critical for future success. I highly recommend her to continue actively!

I am sure that our Beeline has every chance to continue the successful development both in Russia and abroad. Whenever I hear about your new victories and achievements, I will be proud of the fact that I have contributed to them.

I leave the company, but I remain in the team. Now as a reliable partner, customer and supplier of VimpelCom. In Microsoft, the telecommunications area is one of the most important, I will answer for it, I will stay in touch! And I will be in touch with my dear “Biline”!
