Netbook passion

The company Psion, now already plainly and not existing (there is only a division of Canadian Psion Teklogix), wants a strange one. Or rather, does not want the media and computer equipment manufacturers to use the word "netbook" (netbook). A number of Western websites and blogs have received a notice from Psion demanding that they refuse to use the word “netbook” in publications, and generally remove all its references from web pages. Until the end of March 2009.

It turns out that at the beginning of the 21st century, the company announced portable devices that are similar to those already called netbooks today. These were subnotebooks with a keyboard and touchscreen. Most importantly, they were called netBook and netBook Pro. And the name was registered as a trademark.

What exactly Psion threatened "violators" is not known. It is possible that the company may file a lawsuit. She has a formal right. At least part of the New Year PR of the Psion, thanks to this scandal, has already received.
