We all know that the basics of modern human-computer interaction, as well as the provision of information, namely the “multi-window interface” were developed at Xerox PARC and implemented as a mass Apple product. Since those times a lot of water has flowed, but attempts to improve it continue now. We present two developments that students of Auckland University from New Zealand made and implemented on the basis of Haiku OS
The first was implemented by Ahmed Al Hasani and Mohannad Hammadeh and is called “A more manageable multi-window interface”. It does not need a lot of words, the idea is great, necessary and understandable from the video
The second development is called “Multi-platform document-oriented GUI” and is made by James and John Kim. The idea of this development is that each application that supports this technology can be switched to edit mode and the user will be able to place controls on it as he pleases. These locations can be saved, read and they are, as the name implies, portable between platforms (Java, .NET, Haiku)
