The government will make a list of cheap sites

By analogy with the “social package” of eight TV channels, the VGTRK company offered the state to create a similar social package from important websites that need to be made guaranteed to be accessible to the entire population of Russia. Up to the fact that providers will be obliged to provide cheap access to these sites for all citizens (they can cover the costs, for example, at the expense of tax incentives).

With this proposal, the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company addressed the officials on December 24 at a meeting of the working group at the Ministry of Communications for the development of the Internet in the regions, Vedomosti reports . The Ministry of Communications has promised to prepare a proposal and send it to the Ministry of Finance.

Which sites to include in the social package - have not yet decided. The All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company suggests that the Kremlin’s official site , the government’s site , as well as a number of its own Internet projects — for example, the World of Bibigon ’s children’s site — be considered socially significant.
