Activity approach in usability and its comparison with the methods of characters

As previously reported , on December 18, 2008 at 19:00, a roundtable of RusCHI members “An Activity Approach in Usability and Its Comparison with Character Techniques” was held in the 1C conference room. The roundtable participants discussed and compared two approaches: the theory of activity (the school of Soviet psychology, founded by AN Leontyev and SL Rubinstein) and the character method (developed by American Alan Cooper), recalled the Marxist roots of the theory of activity and the role of interaction design in development technologies.

Are you familiar with the theory of activity and character method? Do you use these approaches in the development of your projects and products?
