In 2006, the Russian high-tech market will grow by 15-20% - this is the conclusion reached by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications. In 2005, its volume exceeded 1 trillion rubles, according to
Interfax, the words of the representative of the Ministry, Oleg Byakhov.
Byakhov noted that the high-tech sector in the country is developing quite rapidly, and its growth rates are much higher than the world average. Last year, the growth of high-tech in the country amounted to 24.5%. For comparison, in Germany it was equal to 3.4%, in Great Britain - 5.1%, France - 6%, China - 11.6%, India - 22.9%.
Investment activity in Russia, according to the Ministry of Information Technologies, is a priority in the field of IT production. Indeed, to date, money has been directed mostly to the sectors of information and communication services. For example, last year only $ 250 million was invested in IT production, while in the first half of 2005 alone, the amount of funds in ICT was $ 2.9 billion. It was possible to invest in IT and more, the ministry believes. “Now we need to make a focused effort, including investment, so that the market for the production of IT products in Russia grows as fast as the market for information and communication services,” said Byakhov.
