Subversion.

Recently, all the same sat down at the book about Subversion. The reason I began to study our version control system was my desire to learn how to use branches in development. Previously, we did not use them - at best, we made simple copies, which later did not hope to merge back. Similar copies were used mainly for releases.

Now I really hope that detailed information about branches will help me to organize a normal development process using branches - a temporary branch of the development line for additional functionality, a quick return of a copy to the current development branch and other functionality ...

I often wonder that maybe I lack experience in using alternative version control systems. I know about the existence of such things as Git and Mercurial. I tend to eventually switch to one of these systems, but first I want to know about their pros and cons. About the possibilities and disadvantages. Unfortunately, at the moment I can’t even imagine how I can do it - where is there enough information about them?

I was prompted where to read porobro - to figure out about mercurial .
