SlideShare Plugin: Connect PowerPoint to the Cloud
SlideShare has released an interesting plugin for PowerPoint 2007 that allows you to send the edited file to SlideShare hosting directly from the program menu. Moreover, this plugin allows you to upload any file from the site for editing into the program, even someone else’s presentation (for this purpose there is a full-text search in the archive of online documents).
SlideShare is an analogue of Youtube, only for presentations. The service allows you to publish online presentations for public access and view them online, supports RSS and Twitter. The appearance of such a plug-in means that your PowerPoint program is being converted into an application for an online service. This is a social component that MS Office programs lack for group work.
