Twitter helped Dell make $ 1 million

Bloggers love to talk about the so-called Twitter business model. Why? It's simple - at the moment Twitter has no business model at all. And until she appears, I assure you, these conversations will not stop. The choice of the model for monetization, of course, is important and obligatory. But, the more I look at Twitter, the better I understand that this is the case when a company can afford to wait with a choice, and find the best solution for themselves.

Twitter today is the leader of the global microblogging, mobile and not so, and perhaps this is the only major service for which microblogging underlies the business (the so-called core-business). Look at the major competitors (I do not take into account the numerous clones) - for them, microblogging is just one of the most useful points, not more. I think if tomorrow Twitter put itself up for sale, we would have gasped on the number of potential buyers and their six, seven, eight-digit rates, which would make us forget about the global economic downturn.

The “diamondless” diamond phenomenon (and the true value of Twitter) I spotted today in an article on InternetNews:
... Some companies have discovered the most effective tool for Twitter communication with their customers. According to Dell (NASDAQ: DELL) reports, Twitter brought the company more than $ 1 million in revenues this year through sales reports. Dell fans, who subscribed to “tweets” from the company, found out about special offers for various products and clicked on the suggested links, sales from which, of course, were recorded by statistics ...

If Twitter brought Della as much as a million dollars, imagine how much other companies were able to earn in the amount, without disclosing their results (or simply not keeping statistics) about sales using tweets. A million for a monster like Dell is, of course, a little money. However, for a smaller office, the figure is quite significant.

In 2009, Twitter vowed to activate a monetization plan. How it will look - no one yet knows. Perhaps premium accounts, corporate tapes, or something like that. In any case, while theorists point their fingers at the sky, trying to find the most accurate forecast, Twitter continues to gain popularity.

Anyway, I'm sure everything on Twitter will be fine. Even if for someone it will always remain a “delusional service.”

For those who have Twitter accounts, you can find me there too .
