Sun recently released JavaFX, from which I am far from impressed, because I saw what Java really is capable of in terms of visualization. Have you seen? Better to look at Vimeo in HD:
This is an example of the Java Processing framework, which has finally reached version 1.0 a couple of weeks ago. To some, this number may seem too small, but this does not negate the fact that Processing was used to create some Nike advertisements, Radiohead & REM clips, installations in museums, and is also included in the training courses of some US universities.
As I said, Processing runs on top of the JVM, so you can use the Java libraries, as well as run your applications in a browser. However, Processing itself uses the “lightweight” Java syntax (putting it on par with Ruby, Python, JS & JavaFX Script for readability and simplicity). This affected his success among the creative masses, which confirms the section «Exhibition» .
